Event News: Top Gun College Summer Series Announced
April 16, 2020
The Top Gun College Summer Series has been created to give college players a chance to get more live game reps in after their seasons were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With all the uncertainties looming in sports, including college softball being cancelled for 2020, we’re seeing opportunities for collegiate athletes to get in some reps for the summer when the majority of them would normally on the fields.
One to watch that has recently been launch is the Top Gun College Summer Serieswhich is scheduled for June, obviously depending on what happens in the next few months with the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic including the government-issued stay-at-home orders.
Robb Behymer, the owner of Top Gun Events, explains the company’s desire to help with a four-weekend series for college players.

With college seasons being suspended,” Behymer beings, “we decided to host the Top Gun College Summer Series to provide innings and games will be valuable and beneficial to these college athletes going forward.
We pray that everyone is safe and healthy until we can all get back to the game we love.”
Behymer says the series—which will include the weekends of June 13-14; June 27-28, July 11-12 and July 25-26, 2020—will be set up like conference play for the athletes.
“Teams will play a double-header on Saturdays and a double-header on Sundays and then will be done until the next date,” he continues. “This is similar to normal college conference play.”
So far, about four dozen players have signed up representing college conferences as diverse at the Big 10, Big East, Missouri Valley, Ohio Valley, Western Athletic, Great American, Great Lakes and Kansas Jayhawks Community College along with several others.
The cost is $200 per athlete to cover expenses for the four weekends of play including player jerseys. Further details including locations are pending.
